Neighborhoods We Serve in Little Elm
Little Elm is where Green Goat Lawn Services is based, and we care for lawns in many parts of town. Here are some neighborhoods we serve and what their HOAs publish about yards. Rules change, so check your own association’s current documents.- ✔Valencia on the Lake: The HOA’s website says even basic landscape or exterior changes need written Architectural Control Committee approval first.
- ✔Paloma Creek (South, Lakeview and Lakeside Estates): The HOA lists mowing, edging and weeding among its most common violation notices. It says routine mulching, weeding and trimming need no approval, while new trees, shrubs and bed edging do.
- ✔Sunset Pointe: The Two Sunset Pointe HOA requires approval for landscaping other than flowers and shrubs.
- ✔Spiritas Ranch: The HOA requires an approved request before any front-yard landscape change.
- ✔Northlake Estates, The Villages of Woodlake, Eldorado Estates, Marina Vista Estates and Stardust Ranch: Each has an HOA listed in the Town’s HOA directory.
- ✔Frisco Hills: Despite the name, it is in Little Elm, not the city of Frisco.
These are just a few of the neighborhoods we serve. If you live anywhere in Little Elm and don’t see your neighborhood here, we serve it too.
What Makes Little Elm Lawns Different
Homeowners here answer to two rule books, the Town’s and the HOA’s. The Town treats weeds and grass over 12 inches as a violation, expects the strip out to the curb to be mowed, and asks that clippings stay out of the street. Denton County spans two soil regions, the sandier Eastern Cross Timbers and the dark Blackland Prairie clays that crack in dry weather, so one street can behave differently from the next. Bermuda and St. Augustine are two of the most widely planted North Texas grasses. Texas A&M AgriLife lists general mowing heights of 1 to 2.5 inches (Bermuda) and 2.5 to 3 inches (St. Augustine). Texas law also bars HOAs from fining for brown turf during a qualifying watering restriction and for 60 days afterward. We handle regular mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup, and our Annual Fertilizer and Weed Control Program takes care of weeds in the turf.
